Mildly Amusing

The possibility exists that I will be singing "Sargon, Hammerabi, Asherbanipal and Gilgamesh" for the rest of the evening. I wish I knew the goat's name.

Caius says, "Me too."

Is it weird that I have always wondered how to pronounce Ashurbanipal? So now I am finally satisfied. With that song stuck in my head.

To that end, I see your Mesopotamians and raise you an Experimental Film.

I love They Might Be Giants, I wish they would EVER tour somewhere other than the east coast.

How very strange--but I like it.

Is it just that I'm getting old, or is it the thing these days to sing with your lips barely apart?

Alana, who have you been watching that sings like that? I don't see a lot of popular modern groups and the ones I do see all seem to sing like normal people (i.e. mouths open to form words and let sound out). That said, the popular groups that I have seen (until I changed the channel) all seem to sing like they are being tortured, with very exaggerated facial expressions/contortions. So who have you been watching?

Anne, (This is Anne in Reno, right? afjtuba? ) of course you would think I'm "watching" people sing--but I'm not. The only TV I get these days is youtube! No, it's the way they sound. Wende had a group of You-tube videos from some great band--and it sounded as if they too just barely enunciate the lyrics. Thus the "barely parted lips" image I got from listening.
